You could replace the pesto with my green curry paste on page 209. Use the same quantities, no other changes are needed. If you do this, I'd suggest rice rather than boiled potatoes for a side dish. 

Practical Playtime / Jobs For The Kids

  • Help get all of the ingredinets in one place, preferably on a tray
  • Peel the onion, if you start them off by cutting off the tops with a knife. Then start to peel the skin just enough to give them something that they can grip and then pull off. This is extremely satisfying at any age. 
  • Measure the extra virgin olive oil
  • Measure the water 
  • Measure the pesto
  • Weigh the peas and beans
